Op reis met een lading petroleum van Philadelphia naar Antwerpen kreeg de ‘BREMERHAVEN’ in zware Oost-Zuid-Ooster storm op de Atlantische Oceaan een lek aan de achtersteven. Zij moest op 5 februari 1902 in positie 48°28’NB. en 29°52’WL. in zinkende staat worden verlaten en ging verloren, de 32 opvarenden van de ‘BREMERHAVEN’ werden allen gered door het Britse SS ‘ANSELMA DE LARRINAGA’.
While traveling with a cargo of petroleum from Philadelphia to Antwerp, the 'BREMERHAVEN' got a leak at the stern during a heavy East-South-Eastern storm on the Atlantic Ocean. She was to be in position 48°28'N on February 5, 1902. and 29°52'W. were abandoned in a sinking condition and was lost, the 32 people on board the 'BREMERHAVEN' were all rescued by the British SS 'ANSELMA DE LARRINAGA'.
