EXXON CARQUINEZ
Built in 1982, by Jakobson Shipyard of Oyster Bay, New York (hull #466) as the Exxon Maine for Exxon Shipping of Wilmington, Delaware.
In 1990, Exxon renamed her as the Exxon Carquinez. However, in 1988, Exxon merged with Mobil to became Sea River Maritime of Houston, Texas. Where the tug was renamed as the S/R Carquinez.
The tug was later sold where she was renamed as the Justine.
She was then acquired by McAllister Towing and Transportation of New York, New York where she was renamed as the Justine McAllister.
The tug is certified with an ABS loadline +A-1 Towing Vessel. Powered by two EMD 16-645-E6 diesel engines with Falk reduction gears at a ratio of 4.481:1 for a rated 4,000 horsepower. She is a twin screw tug equipped with kort nozzles and flanking rudders.
Her capacities are 54,700 gallons of fuel oil, and 3,000 gallons of potable water.
She is outfitted with one fire monitor rated at 2,000 Gallons Per Minute.
Her towing gear includes an INTERcon single drum towing winch outfitted with 2,300(ft) of 2 1/4(in) towing wire. She is also fitted with an elevating wheelhouse with a maximum height of eye of 45(ft).
