EXXON OCEAN STATE
Built in 1974, by Main Iron Works of Houma, Louisiana (hull #295) as the Exxon Ocean State for Exxon Shipping of Wilmington, Delaware.
The tug was later acquired by McAllister Towing and Transportation of New York, New York where she was renamed as the Marjorie B. McAllister.
She is ABS Classed +A-1 Towing, +A.M.S. The tug was repowered in 2001, with two EMD 16-645-E2 diesel engines with Falk reduction gears at a ratio of 4.708:1 for a rated 4,000 horsepower, she is a twin screw tug fitted with kort nozzles and flanking rudders.
Her capacities are 57,631 gallons of fuel oil, 1,075 gallons of lube oil and 1,765 gallons of potable water.
The tug is also fitted with an elevating wheelhouse that features a maximum Height of Eye of 45(ft).
Her towing gear consists of an Almon Johnson single drum towing machine equipped with 2,200(ft) of 2(in) towing wire.
She is fitted with two fire stations rated at 120 Gallons Per Minute.
