S/R Mare Island - (1998-2007)
S/R MARE ISLAND
Built in 1997, by Marco Seattle of Seattle, Washington (hull #477) as the Delta Linda for Bay Delta Towing of San Francisco, California.
The tug was later acquired by SeaRiver Maritime of Benicia, California. Where she was renamed as the S/R Mare Island.
In 2007, SeaRiver Maritime was acquired by Crowley Marine Services where she was renamed as the Goliah.
Powered by Caterpillar 3516 B diesel engines with Ulstein stern mounted Azimuthing "z drives" for a rated 4,400 horsepower.
She has a fuel capacity of 100,000 gallons. The tug's towing gear consists of a double drum towing machine outfitted with 2.25(in) wire.
