S/R TENNESSEE
Built in 1965, by the Dravo Corporation of Neville Island, Pennsylvania as the Esso Tennessee for Esso Shipping of Wilmington, Delaware.
In 1973, the tug was transferred to the Ownership of the Exxon Shipping Company of Wilmington, Delaware. Where she was renamed as the Exxon Tennessee.
In 1993, when Exxon Shipping merged with Mobil Oil, to create SeaRiver Maritime, the tug was renamed as the S/R Tennessee.
In 2000, she was acquired by Amherst Madison, Incorporated of Charleston, West Virginia. Where she was renamed as the Tennessee.
Powered by two Fairbanks Morse 38D8 diesel engines, the tug is fitted with kort nozzles for a rated 4,320 horsepower.
