Esso Bay State / Exxon Bay State
Built in 1970, by Halter Marine Services Inc of New Orleans, Louisiana (hull #258) as the Esso Bay State for Esso Shipping.
The tug was later acquired by Exxon Shipping for their inland fleet where she was renamed as the Exxon Bay State.
In 1994, she was acquired by Reinauer Transportation Companies of Staten Island, New York where she was renamed as the Stephen Reinauer.
In 2007, under the guidance of JMS Naval Architects the tug underwent refitting at Feeney's Enterprise in Kingston, New York.
This included a small additions to her upper wheelhouse, as well as the removal of her towing machine and her side decks were enclosed to add weight for stability. The tug was also fitted with a JAK 400 coupler system.
She is a twin screw tug rated at 2,900 horsepower.
