Timur 5
The “TIMUR 5" is Esso's additional bunkering barge for servicing its marina clients.
Built in 1961 as "Ote Maru No. 5", she came to Singapore in 1970 as "Yimur 5" in charte for Esso
Sold in 1973 as "Mae Wang". Scrapped in Rayong in 1985.

ESSO ADDS ANORTHER BARGE
ESSO's presence and facilities in the Singapore harbour area were further enhanced by the addition of a second hunkering barge recently.
The additional “TIMUR 5", will help relieve the “ESSO JURONG“ in providing round the clock bunkering services to coaslal and inlemational vessels calling here.
The construction of our refinery at Pulau Ayer Chawan places a great demand on the “Esso Jurong".
Besides providing oil to run the machines needed In construct the refinery, the barge also supplies fuel for the dredges, pipe-laying
vessels. etc. Recent years also saw an increase in supply vessels that service the oil exploration
tems in the neighbourhood regions. To cater to all thes it was found that an additional barge was needed in order to maintain an efficienl service.
The new barge is capable of carrying and discharging two types of fuel simultaneously with a total capacity of 1000 tons. lt is also
fitted with increased capacity pumps so as to reduce the bunkering time.
