Ticonderoga - (1991-2005)

Build in 1954 as "Socony 9", renamed in 1960 as "Mobil 9" and renamed as "Ticonderoga" in 2005,
sunk in the Kill Van Kull in heavy fog in 1992 and was sold the day she was raised to Witte salvage.

This is a photo of the Mobil tug Ticonderoga ex Mobil 9 after she sunk in Kill Van Kull Near the Exxon Bayway Refinery in 1992.
She had a light oil barge (Mobil Barge 20) alongside enroute to Port Mobil Staten Island and ran aground in dense fog.
Her crew was rescued by the tug Tamarac. No injuries or deaths.
