Rebuild History
Converted from tanker to dry bulk carrier, 1958, by Port Arthur Shipbuilding, Ltd., Port Arthur, Ont., and lengthened (673.58 x 68.16 x 31; 13274 gross - 9712 registered). Deepened at Thunder Bay, 1981; (14824 gross - 11262 net).

Disposition
Sold for scrap in 1989. Arrived in Aliaga, Turkey, September 19, 1989.

History
As NIPIGON BAY: Struck Whaleback Shoals while upbound in the St. Lawrence River, about eighteen miles above Ogdensburg, NY, on October 16, 1980, tearing at least one hole in her hull. After temporary repairs were made, she proceeded to Thunder Bay, Ontario.
