Esso Caracas Is First Creole Tanker Equipped With Butane Deck Tanks.
"Esso Caracas" made her appearance in the San Nicolas Harbor on April 6th, 1966, with a new structure on her deck. The
Creole tanker had just returned from drydocking in the U.S.A., where two special tanks for ransporting liquefied petroleum gas were installed on deck. In addition to crude cargo, the tanker will now be able to transport some 2900 barrels of liquefied butane.
The "Esso Caracas" is the first Creole ship to be equipped with deck tanks for transporting liquefied petroleum products.
