Originally built as a ferry "Essex", she was rebuilt in 1941 as a tug "J.E. McQueen", bought by Imperial Oil Co., in 1943 as "Stoic".
She was chartered by the Royal Canadian Navy for service in 1944. Returned after the war.
Sold in 1948 to International Petroleum Co., Ltd., Peru. Lost in 1957.
