The 190,000 dwt "Esso Paris" had an interesting companion at Ras Tanura - the 370,000 dwt "Nisseki Maru",
world's largest tanker operating today (1971). The larger VLCC draws 89 feet (which is 7 feet more than VLCC's
calling at Bantry Bay, Ireland) and can unload a full cargo only at Kiire Terminal in Kagoshima Bay, Japan.
