Sebasticook
Maritime Commission hull no. 2632, a T1-M-BT1 tanker laid down on 9 April 1945 by the St. John's River Shipbuilding Corp., Jacksonville, Fla., was scheduled to be acquired by the Navy on a loan charter basis from the Maritime Commission and commissioned as Sebasticook (AOG-72). As she neared launching, however, the Navy's need for ships of that type diminished; and the coastal tanker was launched as Mexia on 11 August 1945. The tanker's acquisition by the Navy was officially cancelled on 29 August 1945.
