1943 - Laid down, as HIWASSEE, 3 July 1944, as a Maritime Commission type (T1-M-A2) tanker hull, under Maritime Commission (MC hull 1526) contract at East Coast Shipyards Inc., Bayonne, N.J.
1944 - HIWASSEE Acquired by the Navy from the Maritime Commission, 17 October 1944
1944 - HIWASSEE (AOG-29) Commissioned, 24 October 1944.
1946 - HIWASSEE (AOG-29) Decommissioned, 20 February 1946, custody transferred to US Army
1946 - HIWASSEE (AOG-29) Struck from the Naval Register, 12 March 1946.
1947 - HIWASSEE (AOG-29) Returned to US Navy custody, 22 March 1947
1953 - HIWASSEE Sold to Luzon Stevedoring Company Inc., Manila, Philippines, renamed TONGSHUI.
CASUALTY REPORTS.
Reported TONGSHUI grounded and heavy damaged 2 oct 1953 on Pratas Reef. Hulked Manila 1956, no further info.
