Escatawpa
T1-M-A2
Mattawee Class Gasoline Tanker:
USS Escatawpa (AOG-27) under way in the vicinity of Hampton Roads, VA., 3 October 1944. Photographed from an
aircraft based at NAS Norfolk, VA. Escatawpa's camouflage is Measure 32, Design 8AO. From this angle the
camouflage pattern on the bow definitely confuses the apparent direction and size of the ship.
