Commissioned on May 10, 1946. Built as T3-S2-A3 class tanker. Served in Gulf, Caribbean, and Atlantic, with rotating service on Mediterranean, 1946-1965. Arrived at Lorain, OH, September 14, 1965, for lengthening. Transferred to Military Sealift Command on July 15, 1975.
