 The first "Tuscarora" was build in 1898 by Sir James Laing, Sunderland.
Measurements : 420 Feet lenght x 53 Feet breadth, 8000 Dwt.
Engines : T 3 cyl. ( amidships ).
1912 : sold and renamed "Powhattan" ( Tank Storage & Carriage Co., Ltd. ).
1916 : ( Standard Transportation Co., Ltd., ( Homg Kong ).
06.04.1917 : Sunk by submarine ( U-66 ) torpedo 25 miles N by W of North Rona, 59.32N 6.03 W.
( voyage Sabine/Kirkwall) whilst serving as an Admiralty oiler.
