 The second "Comanchee" was build in 1936 by John Brown & Co., Ltd., Clydebank.
Renamed in 1952 as "Esso Plymouth". Sold for scrap in 1962.

 ABOVE is a drawing of the Comanchee, one of the most interesting and important tankers flying the Red Ensign.
She was delivered to her owners, the Anglo-American Oil Company, by John Brown & Company, early in 1936.

 In the fitting out basin on the River Clyde where the Queen Mary was completed, special care had to be taken to prevent the
newly-launched tanker Comanche, 10,310 tons deadweight, from drifting into the giant liner. The Comanche, 445 feet long, has
been designed for carrying lubricating oil in bulk. Special ballast tanks were provided to hold 3,000 tons of ballast water,
apart from the cargo tanks.
