The steam coaster Luffwell, built in Belgium in 1912, was fitted with tanks to carry petroleum.

Distribution tanker, built 09.1912 by Van Damme Freres & Adam, Baesrode, Belgium,
as "Mate", for Steam Traders Ltd.
Measurements: 120 Feet length X 22 Feet breadth
Engines: C2Cyl-Aft.
1916 Sold to Anglo as "Luffwell", fitted with tanks in hold to carry petrolem.
1934 Sold to W.A. Andow & Co., Ltd., Newcastle.
1935 sold for scrap.
