Pictured above is the British tanker Mobiloil, which is standing by to attempt to rescue the crew of the small Norwegian freighter Sisto which is foundering in the North Atlantic 600 Miles off the coast of Ireland.

Captain G.E. Girling Skipper, of the Tanker Mobiloil, who docked his boat in Brooklyn today. The captain told a thrilling story of the rescue of 16 seamen from the Norwegian boat, Sisto, by the liner New York. Captain Girling had his ship stand by for 18 hours, pouring oil on the waves, in an effort to effect the rescue. He said, that in his 32 years at sea "He had never seen such mountainous waves and such bad weather." "He said that the rescue by the New York was suberp seamanship".
