The second "Mobil Explorer", was a research vessel, built in 1965 by American Marine, New Orleans, hull no. 909.
Sold in 1969 as "Vast Explorer I", sold in 1975 as "Paul Langevin III", sold in 1990 as "Phoenix".
In 1992 converted to crab trawler and renamed as "Eastbound One", sold in 1996 as "Pilgrim".
No further history known.
