"Mobil Comet", 27,025 dwt - Panamese flag, owned by Tankers Navigation Co. Ltd.,
and build in 1950 by Sun Shipbuilding & Dry-dock Co., Chester, Pa., as seen here,
as "Sovac Comet".
"Sovac Comet", on B/B charter became "Mobil Eagle" in 1955 and "Mobil Comet" in 1962,
returned to owners 1965 as "World Merchant", converted to Bulk carrier 1966 and became
"Zorina"in 1972. Broken up in 1978.

LOA 628 ' Beam 82 ' 8 " Draught 32 ' 4 " 27,025 SDWT
Built 1950 by Sun Shipbuilding & Dry Dock Company, Chester, Pennsylvania, powered by a De Laval turbine developing
12,500 HP. On bareboat charter as SOVAC COMET to Mobil for 15 years from her owners Tankers Navigation Company.
With the others of her class, she was mostly employed in lifting Kuwait crude out of Mena Al Ahmadi, Arabian crude out of
Ras Tanura, or Iraqi crude out of Tripoli for our refinery at Paulsboro.
She was renamed MOBIL EAGLE in 1962, redelivered to her owners in 1965 and renamed WORLD MERCHANT. Converted
to a bulk carrier in 1966, enlarged to LOA 631 ' 6 " 32,204 SDWT. She was strengthened for heavy cargoes with six holds
and 11 hatches.
Became ZORINA in 1972. Broken up in 1978.
