LOA 435 ', Beam 56 ', Depth 33 '6 " 10,770 DWT, 76,281 bbls Triple expansion engine 48 " stroke 2600 IHP
Launched 23 August and commissioned 2 November 1920 at the Union Works, Bethlehem Shipbuilding Corporation, San Francisco, California. Algonquin turned in 33 years of service, unbroken except for periodic overhauls for upkeep and repair. She saw foreign service until late 1925, then settled down to coastal and inter-coastal domesticity. In May 1941, she was transferred by sale to the Panamanian fleet of the Standard-Vacuum Oil Company. Five months later, in October 1941, she was turned over to the British and served that flag throughout the war. Early in 1946 she was returned to Panamanian registry and to Stanvac use.
In 1953 Algonquin was sold for the value of her steel.
