Steel 4-masted barque LOA 332 ' Beam 45 " Depth 26 ', 3381 gross tons 133,000 cases
Launched in January 1902, at Arthur Sewall's yard in Bath, Maine, ATLAS left the yard on 16 February 1902, in tow of the hired tug TRITON for Constable Hook, where she was to load her first cargo for the Far East.
The owners of TRITON had contracted to bring ATLAS around for $ 750. They would have done better on a time basis for, due to high winds juid heavy seas, the job took eight long days! In April 1910, ATLAS was sold to Alaska Packers Association and delivered to her new owners at San Francisco.
Under her new name STAR OF LAPLAND, she ended her days fishing in the Bering Straits.
