Keel laid 24-12-1941. Launched 18-04-1942. Completed 22-06-1942. Gr. 10300 t., Net. 5928 t., Dw. 16613 t. L.o.a. 159,57 m., Br. 20,78 m., Dr. 9,19 m. Engine:2 steam turbines, manufactured by Westinghouse Electric & Manufacturing Company, Milwaukee. 12800 S.h.p., 9395 kW. Speed 16,5 knots. 26 tanks.

AO-43 TAPPAHANNOCK-1942 Acquired by United States Navy, Wilmington, Delaware, U.S.A.
AO-43 TAPPAHANNOCK-1947 was assigned to the Naval Transportation Service NTS), 1 July.
AO-43 TAPPAHANNOCK-1949 was next assigned to Occupation Service in Europe from 2 to 25 May.
